How to merge PDF files

  1. Add two or more PDF files using the box above.
  2. Use the arrows next to each file to arrange them in the order you want the final document to follow.
  3. Click "Merge PDFs" — a combined file downloads automatically once ready.

Why merge PDFs in the browser instead of uploading?

Many free PDF mergers upload your files to a remote server, process them there, and send back a result — meaning your documents temporarily leave your device. PDFGuy's merge tool runs entirely on pdf-lib, a JavaScript library that reads and combines PDF pages directly in your browser. Nothing is ever transmitted, which matters if you're merging contracts, ID scans, or financial records.

Frequently asked questions

Does merging reduce PDF quality?

No. Pages are copied directly from the source files without recompression, so image and text quality stays exactly as it was in the originals.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not currently — encrypted or password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first before merging.

Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?

No hard limit is set by this tool. Very large numbers of large files are limited only by your device's available memory.
