What this tool does
It reads the text content of every page in your PDF and lays it out as paragraphs in a standard .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice. This is the fastest way to get PDF content into an editable format when you just need the words, not the exact original layout.
When this works best
- Text-based PDFs (reports, articles, letters) with straightforward paragraph layouts
- Getting a quick editable draft to rework in your own formatting
- Pulling content out of a PDF to reuse elsewhere
When it has limits
Scanned PDFs (image-based, with no underlying text layer) won't extract any text — a scanned page is just a picture to a computer, and this tool doesn't include OCR. Complex layouts like multi-column pages, tables, and precise formatting also won't carry over exactly, since the tool focuses on extracting readable paragraph text.
