When this helps

Good to know

The tool divides every page along one straight line, so it works best when all pages share the same layout. To pull out or separate whole pages instead, use Split PDF. To trim margins, use Crop PDF. Read the full walkthrough in how to split a PDF page in half.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF page in half?

Upload your PDF, choose Left / Right or Top / Bottom, and click "Cut Pages in Half." Every page is divided along the line you set and downloads as a new PDF.

Can I split scanned book pages that show two pages at once?

Yes. Choose Left / Right and each two-page scan becomes two single pages, in reading order. If your book reads right to left, tick the right-to-left option.

What if the scan is not centered?

Move the cut position slider until the line sits on the fold, then cut. The slider works between 30% and 70%.

Does it change the quality of my pages?

No. Pages are not re-rendered or recompressed. Each half is a view of the original page, so quality stays the same. The file size may grow, because both halves still carry the original page data.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and your file never leaves your device.
